‘It would be my swansong’ – USA’s Stacy Lewis on wanting to end Solheim Cup streak
Motivation and experience are what Team USA captain Stacy Lewis believes puts her team in a stronger position than last year to regain golf's Solheim Cup.
USA haven’t won the team competition since 2017, with last year’s event ending in a 14-14 draw in Spain, which saw Europe retain the cup.
Speaking ahead of the 19th edition of the Solheim Cup in Gainesville, Virginia, Lewis tells Sportsworld’s Lee James what it would mean to the USA to end their winless streak.
The women’s team event usually takes place every two years, and sees two teams of 12 women from the United States and Europe go head-to-head over three days.
