Lack of information on City Centre South

Shoppers coming in to Coventry city say there isn't enough information on the redevelopment of south of the centre. The works were supposed to have started on the project by now.

Work on the redevelopment of Coventry City centre south should have started by now and shoppers have said there is very little information on the plans.
The 拢450m redevelopment intends to transform areas including City Arcade, Bull Yard, Market Way, Shelton Square and Hertford Street into a "thriving" new neighbourhood.
And while the area is definitely in need of a makeover, there are some businesses who aren't very happy with the way its been handled by Coventry City Council as 成人快手 CWR's Ushma Mistry found out on a walkabout in the area.
The Hill Group which is overseeing the redevelopment said: "The Hill Group, in joint venture partnership with Shearer Property Group, has been working with Coventry City Council since early 2022 to fulfil its long-standing ambitions to transform some of the most outdated areas of the southern part of the city centre.

Throughout the planning stage, we have actively engaged with the community through a series of public consultation events and shared information widely through a dedicated development website and through extensive local press coverage.聽 Information is also available at our retail outlet in the city centre, and we are working with the Council to start initial site hoarding of the development in the coming months.

鈥淒emolition for the first phase of the project is due to commence in early 2025, subject to approval by the Council. We are also seeking agreement to undertake early works in Autumn 2024, to help progress this transformational project as quickly as possible, to benefit the local community whilst respecting the existing retail outlets that are continuing to trade.鈥

Coventry City Council were approached for a statement but declined the opportunity.
