Marvel's Deadpool & Wolverine may be taking the box office by storm right now - but it's notable for being a modest 2 hours and 8 minutes long, when another Marvel film, 2019's Avengers Endgame, weighed in at a much heavier 2 hours 48 minutes.

Not only that, but the summer's other biggest hits, the animation movies 'Inside Out 2' and 'Despicable Me 4' are both just over 90 minutes long.

As a poll this year concluded the ideal movie length for audiences was 92 minutes, are are the wishes of cinema goers often at odds with those of directors?
