'I wanted to turn this pain into a flower'
The countdown is on for our Make a Difference awards in September – celebrating people in Leicestershire and Rutland who go above and beyond.
We’ve had hundreds of nominations - and every week until the big day you can hear some of the stories behind the finalists.
All this week, you'll be meeting the nominees in the Great Neighbour category, the people who helps to make their neighbourhood a better place to live or work, either on a regular basis or through a single act of kindness.
A few years back Jay Popat had one of the most upsetting experiences of his life, after trying to save the life of one of his neighbours. But he decided he wanted to create something positive out of what happened, and started a mission to change the lives of young people through sport.
Matt Smith went to see one of his groups in action.
