Andy Evans contracted Hepatitis C and HIV when he was five years old, when given an infected product by the NHS. He has since set up the Tainted Blood campaign, which has been campaigning for the victims for years.

He tells Tammy Gooding how he first picked up the viruses, and how he suffered whilst growing up. He described his treatment as being 'experimented on, without my consent'.

³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ research has revealed the true scale and duration of medical trials using infected blood products on children without consent in the 1970s and 80s.

Documents seen by ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ News suggest doctors were placing research goals ahead of patients’ needs, and led to what has been described as the biggest treatment disaster in the history of the NHS.

The inquiry will report on May 20th and will definitively conclude whether medical ethics codes were observed. The interim report stated that wrong was done on individual, collective and systemic levels.
