Nuclear test veteran says, 鈥榳e were guinea pigs鈥�

Brian Cantle was stationed at Christmas Island during Britain鈥檚 bomb tests in 1957. The 87-year-old from Whipsnade, Bedfordshire, completed his national service in the Royal Engineers. The photo, from Brian鈥檚 private collection, was given to him at the time and shows one of the nuclear tests carried out at the island in the Pacific Ocean.
