Captain Tom’s family must demolish spa soon
Central Beds Council’s Richard Proctor says the building doesn’t have planning permission and must come down. Approval for a building at the Grade II-listed family home of Captain Sir Tom Moore in Marston Mortaine, Bedfordshire, was originally granted in August 2021. But the plans were different to what was built and a demolition notice was issued. Capt Sir Tom raised more than £38m for NHS Charities Together by walking laps of his garden at the start of the first Covid-19 lockdown. He died in February 2021. Photo: Getty Images.
