'Excruciatingly beautiful' - Eddy Grant on 1960s London

In 1960, when he was just 12-years-old, Eddy Grant left what was then British-Guyana with his parents and moved to Kentish Town in North London.

He remembers it being horrid, cold, and smelly - and eventually 'excruciatingly beautiful'. It would only be 8 more years before his first big hit as a musician with The Equals and 'Baby, Come Back'. And after that, a string of 80s hits including 'Electric Avenue' and 'I Don't Wanna Dance.'

Speaking to 成人快手 Radio London's Robert Elms after being inducted into the Camden Music Walk of Fame, Eddy Grant reflects on his early life in London, the culture shock, and validation of finding success as a musician.
