EU agrees migration and asylum deal
European Union member states and the European Parliament have reached agreement on a comprehensive approach to managing migration and asylum.
The head of the European Parliament said it showed that the EU "could deliver on the issue that mattered most to its citizens".
Hanne Beirens, a specialist in European Union policies related to asylum and migration and the director of Migration Policy Institute Europe in Brussels told Newshour's Tim Franks more about the deal and its impact.
