Israel investigating shooting of former policeman by security forces
On 30 November, Yuval Kestelman was heading to work as a government lawyer when he saw two gunmen shooting into a crowd of people at a bus stop in East Jerusalem.
Kestelman, a former policeman, grabbed his pistol and went after the gunmen who were both shot dead - it is uncertain whether by Kestelman or Israeli soldiers also at the scene.
Yuval Kestelman's brother, Shaked Kestelman, says Yuval was "familiar" with how to respond to gun attacks but a "horrible accident" resulted in him being fatally shot.
The death has prompted further discussion in Israel about civilian gun carrying and the security forces' attitudes and training.
"The soldier tried to do the right thing," says Shaked, speaking to Newshour's James Menendez. Nonetheless, he is angry at the death of his "hero" brother.
