Penny Lane sign stolen 47 years ago is returned
A Penny Lane sign which was stolen by students 47 years ago has been returned to Liverpool.
Taken in 1976, nine years after the Beatles single immortalised the road, the anonymous ex-student felt the sign needed to spend the rest of it's days where it belongs.
The Beatles Story museum was contacted by an anonymous ex-student who said he wanted to return the "totally pristine" sign.
The sign is on display in the museum on Liverpool's Albert Dock.
