How Terry Venables changed football in London forever
Terry Venables, who has died aged 80, was one of football's brightest minds and most innovative coaches.
Born in Dagenham, he made over 500 club appearances as a player - initially for Chelsea, then Tottenham, QPR and Crystal Palace.
As a manager he started out at Palace, earning them the label of "the team of the 80s", before heading to QPR and an FA Cup Final. It was a shock when he took over at Barcelona but he won over the Catalan public with a La Liga win, earning himself the nickname 'El Tel'. Then came a spell Spurs, and this time an FA Cup Final win. The England job came calling shortly after - and that famous run to the Semi-finals of Euro 96.
So how did Terry Venables become one of the most influential figures in London and English football?
