Watching Usain Bolt鈥檚 record-breaking performance at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing ignited Hafsatu Kamara鈥檚 own Olympic dream.

Eight years later, it was a dream the Sierra Leone sprinter would achieve, inspiring others back home through her own achievements at Rio 2016.

Now training towards a place at Paris 2024, alongside her role on the International Olympic Committee (IOC)鈥檚 Athlete Commission as Sierra Leone鈥檚 Athlete Chair, Hafsatu lives by the mantra 鈥渨hat am I doing it for?鈥�.

She tells Sportshour鈥檚 Katie Smith the answer as she explains about the power of representation and why Senegal hosting the 2026 Youth Olympic Games will be a significant moment for Africa.
