Listeria found in imported mushrooms in Norfolk
A consignment of Enoki mushrooms which was found to be contaminated with listeria has been sent to deep landfill. The consignment had come as part of a cargo imported through Felixstowe Docks last month. Environmental health officers found that the mushrooms were unfit for human consumption and said they had to be destroyed. Jill Bennet spoke to Philippa Smith is environmental health manager at King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council.
