World 'really struggling' to hit climate targets - UN

A United Nations report has found that the world's biggest fossil fuel producers have expansion plans that would push the planet far beyond agreed climate targets. The report describes this as a "glaring hypocrisy".

It concluded that countries including the US, China, Russia and the United Arab Emirates would also breach their own policies on carbon emissions.

With the latest global climate summit taking place in a few weeks' time, Niklas Hagelberg, a UN climate change coordinator, told ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Newshour's James Menendez that the world is 'really struggling' to hit climate targets seeking to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5*C on pre-industrial levels.
