Goalkeeper Rylee Foster on returning to the pitch after life-changing accident

Canadian goalkeeper Rylee Foster was involved in a serious car accident while visiting friends in Finland during an international break in October 2021.

This near fatal car accident caused significant injuries, including seven fractures in her neck, and doctors feared she would never play football again.

Less than two years later, Foster has signed for New Zealand club Wellington Phoenix following the end of her contract with Liverpool and is hoping to make Canada鈥檚 team for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Foster 鈥 who wore a 鈥渉alo鈥 around her neck for a time 鈥 tells Sportshour鈥檚 Caroline Barker about her recovery, the signification of her 10:16 tattoo and how she believes she鈥檚 a braver goalkeeper now after all she has been through.
