Zoe chats to international bestselling author Ann Patchett.
Ann's latest novel, Tom Lake, is set on a cherry orchard, at the start of the pandemic in 2020, in Northern Michigan. She tells Zoe how the idea came to her and why she decided to write 'a pandemic novel'. They talk about memory, and how details and specifics change depending on a character's point of view.
Ann also talks about her obsession with the play 'Our Town', which is a big part of this novel and how she wove it in to her novel.
