Hip-hop celebrates its half-century: The movies inspired by the music
This month marks the fiftieth anniversary of hip-hop which over the decades has had a major impact on music, dance, fashion - and of course - the movies.
The cultural phenomenon began in an impoverished neighbourhood in New York in the 1970s and it’s grown to become a worldwide multi-billlion dollar business.
From New York, Talking Movies’ Tom Brook looks back at hip-hop’s influence on cinema.
