Orkney Islands consider leaving Scotland for Norway
The Orkney Islands sit to the north of the Scottish mainland and are technically part of Scotland, within the UK. But they are now discussing alternative forms of governance, including more autonomy within the UK, or closer links with Norway, Denmark or Iceland. The local council says the islands aren't funded adequately - either by the UK government in London or the Scottish government in Edinburgh. Heather Woodbridge, Deputy Leader of the Orkney Islands Council, told Newhour's Paul Henley that different islanders may consider themselves more Scottish, British - or just Orcadian.
