The impact of climate change on heritage

At the COP27 summit, there was an historic agreement to set up a fund of money which will be paid to countries which suffer loss and damage as a direct result of climate change.

Now a group of archaeologists want to see the loss of cultures and heritage to be included in high-level climate discussions.

Professor Joanne Clarke is an archaeologist specialising in climate change impacts on heritage at the University of East Anglia in England. She spoke to Newshour's Razia Iqbal about the different ways of conceiving heritage and how climate change impacts on it.
