"Without Mencap there would be no help and my independence would be gone"
With the European Social Fund set to end on Friday 31st March, many organisations across NI still don't know what it will mean for them. 1700 jobs in charity and community groups are at risk, with some warning they will have to cut staff and support programmes if funding is not fully matched. The UK government's 'Shared Prosperity Fund' is due to replace the ESF. A government spokesperson has told the 成人快手 that new funding will, at minimum, replace what's being lost. Peter Livingstone has been helped into employment by Mencap NI. He came into the GMU studio, with his dad Jim and the charity's director Grainne Close, to speak to Sarah and Chris.
