Some people question his motivations (including his own ex-prime minister dad) but the Qatari banker and United fan still seems committed to becoming their next owner.

Sally Nugent, Faisal Islam and Simon Stone are joined by The Athletic reporter, Adam Crafton, to profile Sheikh Jassim and try to trace where his money could be coming from.

And Simon hears from former Liverpool chairman, Sir Martin Broughton, about why a state could be a surprisingly successful owner of a football club.
