The Indian elephants put to work in Surrey fields
Bionic vet Noel Fitzpatrick tells the story of how Indian elephants from a local circus were put to work in the Surrey fields during World War One.
Their tasks were important – from ploughing the land to moving machinery – jobs previously done by horses taken off to the front lines of War.
