Calls for public inquiry into mental health deaths
The father of a man who took his life at an Essex mental health unit has backed calls for a review into Essex mental health deaths to be replaced by a full public inquiry, after its chair said she needed legal powers to get to the truth.
Only 11 mental health staff out of 14,000 have agreed to take part and there is currently no way to make them give evidence.
It's also emerged that 2,000 deaths across the county over 21 years need to be looked into.
