Farewell to the Ford Fiesta
James May of Top Gear fame for many years on why this was once Britain's favourite car.
It was once the ride of choice for Roger Moore’s James Bond – and since its introduction in the 1970s, the Ford Fiesta has been one of the country’s most popular cars. For many years it was THE most popular racking up 20 million sales worldwide.
But now Ford has confirmed that it will be axing the Fiesta from June next year. It said that it’s accelerating its efforts “to go all in on electrification", and is reviewing the portfolio of cars it’s offering. On ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 4's World at One programme, Sarah Montague has been finding out from James May of Top Gear fame why this small, hatchback became such a firm favourite.
