The expert who complies the Ulster University house price index has warned that Northern Ireland is sitting on a mortgage timebomb. There was a significant increase in house sales here between the end of 2020 and the middle of last year. Michael McCord said people who bought with short term fixed rate mortgages will soon face much higher interest rates when they move to a new deal.
