King Charles III pays tribute to his mother in first address

King Charles III has addressed the UK and the Commonwealth from Buckingham Palace after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II on Friday 9 September 2022

The new King renewed his mother's "lifelong promise of service", saying her dedication never wavered.

Queen Elizabeth died peacefully at Balmoral Castle in the UK on Thursday afternoon at the age of 96.
