ENC grew up listening to reggae and dancehall music. "I use to think Bob Marley came from Gambia" he says. Being surrounded by reggae and dancehall meant the influence stayed with him. Dancehall music is full of vibes, and parties, people and excitement. These are the things that lies behind his music.

His lyrics include Gambian local dialects - Wolof, Mandinka, Fula and Jola. He says, "the way we infuse these things makes the music more interesting."

His song The Way We Roll is about lifestyle, its about family, togetherness, hustling and respect. It's about focussing on the purpose. In the song he uses the Mandinka phrase "nyofu kalama", which conveys a meaning of share and share alike. "That's how we born and grow in Gambia" says ENC.
