Bridgerton actor pays tribute to Nichelle Nichols
The actor Nichelle Nichols, whose best-known role was Lieutenant Uhura in the original 1960s television Star Trek series, has died at the age of 89.
Ms Nicholls was one of the first African-American actors on US television to play a figure of authority.
Her fans included the civil rights leader Martin Luther King - and when she first considered leaving the show, he persuaded her to stay.
Adjoa Andoh, best known for her role in the costume drama Bridgerton, grew up watching Nichelle Nichols in Star Trek. She told Newshour's Razia Iqbal about the impact the actor had on her.
