The Tour De France Femmes - a massive step forward for women's cycling
We hear from one of the driving forces behind the new competition, Louise Vardeman.
With the Tour De France Femmes, the women鈥檚 Tour De France, setting off on an eight day tour soon, it's not the first time a women's version of the race has been attempted, but it's been a long time, and hopes are high that this will be a fan favourite, and a commercial success.
We hear from one of the driving forces behind the new competition, Louise Vardeman. A few years back Louise and a handful of other cyclists rode the entire length of the Tour De France one day ahead of the men's field. It was just one of the ways Louise and her colleagues were determined to show that women deserved their own place on cycling鈥檚 iconic tour. She's no longer a competitive cyclist as she is too busy being manager of the InternationElles, who have a number of riders taking part!
