Protestors demonstrate on M25 overhead gantry
'A site of civil resistance'.
That's what protestors from Just Stop Oil have called the M25, as they spent much of Wednesday on gantries above the motorway, resulting in police stopping traffic for safety reasons.
Here in Essex, the M25 was closed in both directions between Junction 30 for the A13 and Junction 31 for Lakeside for most of the afternoon.
Traffic queued back around 15 miles into Essex, and also across the border in Kent. Many drivers were stuck for hours in temperatures as high as 28 degrees celsius.
³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Essex speaks to Sarah Webb who was involved in Wednesday's protests at Thurrock, as well as Yasmin Gregory who is a green activist from Harlow, and Mick Young who runs haulage company ML Young in Romford - he had a driver and goods stuck in Wednesday's protest traffic.
