Falklands War: Liberty Lodge helping veterans understand their experiences
Forty years on from the Falklands War, veterans continue to visit the islands in an attempt to get a better understanding of what they went through.
Liberty Lodge was built in Stanley for those veterans and their families.
The Falklands Veterans Foundation charity, in Gosport, is behind the idea. It wanted to create a peaceful and tranquil place for Veterans and their families to return to.
Our reporter Ollie Peart is on the Falklands and has been to see what it’s like.
He met up with ’82 veteran Gary Clement - a Former Royal Marine and a Trustee of the Falklands Veterans Foundation - and Falkland Islander Christine Ford who runs the lodge today.
