Can the renewable energy sector provide enough jobs?
In Aberdeen, known as 'Europe's city of oil', the transition from oil to renewable energy is gaining momentum. A growing number of the workforce have already left the oil industry and successfully transferred their skills to the offshore wind sector. 成人快手 Scotland Kevin Keane says that major energy companies such as Total, Shell and BP are investing in renewables. BP UK head Louise Kingham says the company plan to reduce investment in oil to 60% with the remaining 40% diverted to low carbon production. Ryan Crighton from the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce says the transition must be carefully managed to ensure there is an available workforce and relevant technologies to deliver renewables.
