"It was like being burned with acid."
A Clacton man is warning others to keep their pets away from parts of Holland Haven Country Park after his dog was left with burns from a suspected giant hogweed plant.
Barry O'Connell took his dog Winston for a walk on Friday and developed a wound to his snout Saturday morning,
His vet was confident the wound was caused by Winston coming into contact with a giant hogweed plant.
It's been known to be Britain's most dangerous plant, and has been spotted this year so far in Manningtree, Dedham, Fordham, Tilty, Great Easton, Great Warley and Landermere.
