US President Joe Biden has called on all American citizens remaining in the Ukraine to leave the country immediately, citing increased threats of Russian military action.

President Biden said he would not send US troops to rescue Americans if Moscow invades Ukraine. He warned that "things could go crazy quickly" in the region.

Russia has repeatedly denied any plans to invade Ukraine despite amassing more than 100,000 troops at the border.

Jim Himes is a Democrat Congressman who serves on the House Intelligence Committee, giving his reaction to Newsday about Biden's announcement, he said: "It's important for American citizens to listen to that, because the intelligence indicates that there is a very high probability that Putin will take the decision to invade, you will not want to be in the way of that".
