Anger over Billericay link road
Billericay residents are protesting over plans to build a new link road from Basildon to Brentwood which will affect their area.
More than 230 residents came out to protest on Saturday against the new route along Frithwood Lane between Basildon, Billericay and Brentwood.
The plans also show that one of their properties may even be demolished as part of a Compulsory Purchase Order.
Locals say they're being kept in the dark and haven't even been officially informed of the idea, which is part of the bigger local plan for the borough being discussed by councillors this week.
³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Essex did ask Basildon Council for comment but they didn't respond. ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Essex has, however, spoken to Andrew Baggot, who is Leader of Basildon Council, who says that any complaints will be carefully listened to.
