'Afghan Bruce Lee' flees the Taliban to follow his dream
Abbas Alizada bears an incredible resemblance to the beyond-legendary US born but Hong Kong raised martial arts star Lee, who died in 1973.
Abbas has been on the run from the Taliban since their takeover earlier this year - and because of his status as a high profile media figure from the Hazara minority he got the wrong form of attention. Abbas has been in hiding for months, as he told Lawrence Pollard:
鈥淭he Taliban [are] always targeting Hazara people. I lost one of my best friends. They say [martial arts] is not in Islam [so] I stopped training. I went into hiding, changing [addresses] every day. I want to go to the UK. I want to achieve my dreams [there] because I could not in Afghanistan.鈥
