Afghanistan: A 'catastrophic situation'
It's been more than 100 days since the Taliban resumed control over Afghanistan. Education is virtually closed to girls, many are in hiding from the Taliban in fear of their lives, and millions are at risk from starvation as aid to the country is suspended.
A teacher describes the situation as "a condition that no one had even dreamt of", where even babies and children aren't safe as desperation forces parents to sell their newborns. She talks though of how she and her fellow Afghans will never lose hope, and that women and girls are defying the Taliban and attending coaching centres as they try to continue their education.
"We are thinking it has to be a nightmare but this will end eventually. We will never lose our hope."
