Climate change: Could seaweed help cows burp less methane?

Methane's global warming properties are much higher than carbon dioxide, and a significant proportion of this is attributed to cows' burps.

Biologist Ermias Kebreab says adding seaweed to their diet could be key in reducing the amount of methane cows emit, and that just a small amount needs to be added to their foodstuffs. In trials, this has resulted in them burpring more hydrogen and less methane.
