Tensions rise over future of Turkey-EU migration deal
Tensions are rising on all sides as the European Union and Turkey try to negotiate renewed funding for a migration cooperation agreement made at the height of the migrant crisis in 2016. The agreement became known as the "Turkey-EU migration deal" and limited the number of asylum seekers arriving on EU shores. The 成人快手鈥檚 Frey Lindsay speaks with migration experts Olivia Sundberg Diez and Martin Ruhs about the background and politics of the deal, and with Turkish President Erdogan鈥檚 chief adviser, 陌brahim Kal谋n, about changes the Turkish government wants before they'll agree to keep the deal going. We鈥檒l also hear from refugees on both sides of the Aegean sea, one of the flashpoints of the crisis. And Burcu Karakas of Deutsche Welle Turkish, describes how the position for refugees in Turkey gets ever more fraught.
