Ivory Coast: Former president returns home after ICC acquittal

The former President of Ivory Coast, Laurent Gbagbo will set foot on Ivorian soil again as he returns to the country after a decade. In 2010 he refused to concede defeat following the elections and major violence broke out. Months later in April 2011 he was arrested and extradited to the International Criminal Court. He was eventually acquitted of crimes against humanity which he had been charged with, following the electoral violence. Laurent Gbagbo still has immense support in the country.
