Campaign to keep 'lifesaving' Ambulance Car

The ambulance provision on Purbeck is currently under review.

Campaigners in Swanage fighting to save what they say is a "lifesaving" Ambulance car say they still don't know if keeping it is an option.

Dorset CCG and South West Ambulance Service (SWAS) are conducting a review of ambulance provision for Purbeck. They say nothing will change until after a consultation with stakeholders.

A petition against any possible cut has gathered almost 8,000 signatures, with posters and banners appearing across Purbeck in the last few weeks.

成人快手 Radio Solent spoke to a founder member of Defend Dorset NHS Debbie Monkhouse, and Kevin Egan who had a stroke three years ago and says the car saved his life.

Dorset CCG and SWAS have told us "no changes will be made to the existing service until we've had the opportunity to engage and work with local stakeholders and representatives."

Richard Drax, South Dorset MP says he supports the ambulance car being retained but he doesn't know the full scope of the ongoing review. He says he hasn't been told if retaining the car is an option.
