‘I was fighting back tears’ listening to Billie Jean King’s speech
United States Olympic Gold medal winning ice hockey player Hilary Knight was on the ice for the first Women's professional game to be held at New York's famed Madison Square Garden. Speaking with Sportshour’s Chris Latchem, Knight described her feelings when she heard Billie Jean King’s pre-face off speech that the Tennis Hall of Famer made at the start of the tournament, and how having a women’s professional league would help the visibility of the sport for young girls in America.
