In Turkey a number of Uighur refugees have allegedly been rounded up with the intention of forcibly returning them to their native China. Some members of the Turkish parliament have even accused Ankara of agreeing to deport Uighurs in exchange for access to China's Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine. However, the Turkish foreign minister has denied any connection between extraditions and vaccination deliveries. Isobel Cockerel is a journalist with the online reporting platform Codastory, who is following the plight of the Uighurs.
