'I had my afro out, fist up. It was so empowering'

Canadian Rugby 7鈥檚 star Pamphinette Buisa was brought up not to protest, born to parents who lived through apartheid in South Africa, who knew people who spoke up were often persecuted for using their voice.

Following the postponement of the Olympic Games and in the aftermath of George Floyd鈥檚 death, Buisa turned organiser of various Black Lives Matter marches in Canada fighting racial injustice.

Speaking with Katie Smith for Sport Today, she said: 鈥淚 was dressed head to toe black, had my afro out, fist up, with all my people. It was so empowering.鈥
