Ex-ABA players ended up ‘living in their cars’
More than 100 former basketball stars are suffering financial hardship. The players are from the ABA, a successful rival to the NBA in the 1960's and 70's before a merger in 1976... but now some of the biggest names of their day are dying in poverty, and the charity "Dropping Dimes" are campaigning for the NBA to step in.
Darnell "Dr. Dunk" Hillman was a huge star in both leagues and told Sportshour presenter Caroline Barker how the ABA played such an important role in how the game is played today.
