The man who pioneered a new film genre
In the 1920s German filmmaker Arnold Fanck began shooting films high in the mountains. He and his team dragged cameras on sledges to reach the highest peaks, bringing spectacular images of the scenery to an audience who had never seen anything like it before.
Matthias Fanck spoke to Witness History about his grandfather's achievements.
