Longest non-stop flight for bird
A bar-tailed godwit has made what's thought to be the longest journey recorded for a bird - all the way from Alaska to New Zealand, a 12,000 km journey. The bird took eleven days to travel from one part of the globe to the other and it's said to have the aerodynamics of a jet fighter, as it flew at speeds of up to 55km per hour. Dr Phil Battley was involved in the project at Massey University in New Zealand to track the bird.
