Government ‘totally unsatisfactory’ on virus powers
The Commons Speaker has criticised the government’s handling of powers to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle said ministers must make a “greater effort” to give MPs time to debate and decide.
The Speaker called on the government to start “rebuilding trust” after accusing it of showing “contempt” for Parliament.
