Hurricane Laura hits US coast
Hurricane Laura has reached landfall in Texas and Louisiana with officials warning of what they describe as an 'unsurvivable' storm surge.
Mark Sudduth from Hurricane Track is monitoring the hurricane from Shreveport, Louisiana. He says it's a terrible trial local people face over and over:
"They build smart, they build high up on mounds and they put their houses on stilts. But it seems that the hurricanes just seem to try to get bigger to compensate for that."
